FORDIS is responsible
for developing the skills of Les Mousquetaires' personnel.
The task of this organisation is to integrate and train
the personnel of Les Mousquetaires' stores and companies.
Retail distribution jobs have
changed significantly over the last ten years. To the purely
commercial function have been added other roles such as
team management, product knowledge, regulations, etc. |
The task of FORDIS is therefore to ensure that the
skills of Les Mousquetaires' staff are permanently updated. To
do this, it delivers every year about 900 000 hours of professional
development courses.
The teams of trainers and training managers work in
close co-operation with the stores and the various Les Mousquetaires'
organisations.
Each year, half Les Mousquetaires' employees attend a training
course, resulting in some 26,000 annual training days.
To meet the new skill requirements, Les Mousquetaires
also use training establishments whose main task is to train young
employees in specific trades.
Distributed throughout France, and organised according
to speciality, these establishments allow more than 2,200 young
people per year to acquire a solid grounding in a retailing trade
and to join a company, giving them their first opportunity in
their professional careers. At the end of 2004, these establishments
reached a rate of placement of 80%.
The prospects for development are those of a large
group, and Les Mousquetaires offer their employees one invaluable
advantage: the chance of eventually becoming the store manager.
This is not an empty promise, since a third of Les Mousquetaires'
members are former employees.

current and future employees of Les Mousquetaires to improve their
skills or be trained in the main retail distribution trades:
